Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect for my first acupuncture session?

When you first arrive, an intake will be given which includes information on your concerns, past history, medications, surgeries, etc. We also assess your physical body by reading tongue and pulses. We will come up with a plan of treatment and have a session which may include hands on work like Tui Na massage, cupping, moxa, TDP lamp, acupressure, acupuncture, and you will leave with suggestions for continued well being.

Reading the tongue and pulse is a diagnostic tool in Chinese Medicine that tells many things about the state of your body in its current state. We can then base your treatment session on those findings.

Utilizing many techniques like very fine, sterilized needles inserted into points on the body, acupuncture clears the pathways for more blood flow, energy, and vitality in the body so that we can live in a more balanced state.

Wear comfortable clothing so the arms and lower legs can be accessed. Often though, you can opt to be unclothed under the sheet and blanket for access to the back and abdomen.

How many sessions does it take to see results?

We like to see immediate results, so usually after the first session, you should see some changes. But, it depends on the person and what is being treated. Sometimes it takes a few sessions to make a lasting change.
